Movember is such a good cause but (in most cases) for us girls growing a ‘tache is pretty impossible so why not knit one instead? They only take twenty minutes or so and you can sell them for £1 each to raise money for the charity.
The pattern to knit your own moustache is as follows:
I used DK wool and 4mm needles. Cast on 1 st leaving a long tail of thread so you can tie the moustache in place.
1. Knit front and back of stitch
2. Purl 2
3. Knit 1, knit 1 front and back
4. Purl 3
5. K1, Knit 2 front and back
6. Purl 5
7. Cast off 1 st, knit 3, knit 1 front and back
8. Purl 5
9. Cast off 1, knit 2, knit 2 front and back
10. Purl 6
11. Knit 5, knit 1 front and back
12. Purl 7
13. Knit 1 front and back, knit 5, knit 1 front and back
14. Purl 9
15. Knit 2 front and back, knit 7
16. Purl 11
17. Knit 2 front and back, knit 9
18. Purl 13
19. Cast off 1 st, knit 8, knit 2 together twice
20. Purl 10
21. Cast off 1 st, knit 5, knit 2 together twice
22. Purl 7
23. Cast off 1 st, knit 1, knit 2 together twice
24. Purl 4
25. Knit 1, knit 3 front and back
26. Purl 7
27. Knit 1 front and back, knit 4, knit 2 front and back
28. Purl 10
29. Knit 1 front and back, knit 7, knit 2 front and back
30. Purl 13
31. Knit 2 together twice, knit 9
32. Purl 11
33. Knit 2 together twice, knit 7
34. Purl 9
35. Knit 2 together, knit 5, knit 2 together
36. Purl 7
37. Knit 5, knit 2 together
38. Purl 6
39. Knit 1 front and back, knit 1, knit 2 together twice
40. Purl 5
41. Knit 1 front and back, knit 2, knit 2 together
42. Purl 5
43. Knit 1, knit 2 together twice
44. Purl 3
45. Knit 1, knit 2 together
46. Purl 2
47. Knit 2 together
48. Cast off. Leave a long tail of thread to match the other side.
